In this series I assemble a clone of the IBM 5150 motherboard. We start with the blank PCB and work our way though the build step by step. Eventually we are able to boot the system into DOS then add an XT-IDE controller to setup an emulated harddrive using a CF card.
The 5150 kit was bought from http://www.mtmscientific.com/pc-retro.html
The XT-IDE blank board was ordered from eBay.
There area number of issues during the build; my monochrome monitor acts up; a number of bad 64K DRAMs cause issues and a bad Floppy controller give me grief.
There are seven videos in the series.
